He was a retired employee of Copeland Refrigeration Corp. and a World War II Army veteran. Surviving are 3 sisters: Mrs. Luda Stephens, Mt. Meredith Jackson Edwards, 74, died at his home on Caines Creek at 1:30 p.m. Saturday following an illness of two months. He was a farmer. Mr. Edwards was born on Caines Creek February 8, 1878, a son of the late John and Liza Osborne Edwards. He was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church. His wife, Emily Jane Morris Edwards, died last July. Funeral services were conducted Sunday at the Caines Creek Free Will Baptist Church by the Rev. Gallie Isaac. Burial was in Morris Cemetery on Caines Creek under the direction of Curtright Funeral Home. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Roy Salyers, of Hannah, KY, Mrs. George A. Moore, of South Charleston, WV, Mrs. Fred Ferguson of Blaine, KY, and Mrs. Douglas Stephens of Westerville, OH; nine sons, Okey, Earl, Albert, Dolphus, Russell and Charlie Edwards, all of Ashland, John and Carl Edwards both of Blaine, and Hurston Edwards of Sidney, OH; and two sisters, Mrs. Sarah G. Mrs. Edwards was born April 9, 1884, at Blaine, a daughter of the late David and Rachel Prince Morris. She was a member of the Cains Creek Freewill Baptist Church. Survivors include the husband, M. J. Edwards, four daughter Mrs. Roy Salyer, Hannah, KY, Mrs. George A. Funeral services were conduced Monday June 11 for Mrs. Carrie B.  Salyer, 81, Blaine, at the Blaine Freewill Baptist Church by Harold Boggs, minister. Burial was in the Edwards cemetery at Dean's Branch. Mrs. Salyer died June 9 at her home following an extended illness. Mrs. Salyer was born June 16, 1898, at Blaine, a daughter of the late Meredith and Emma Morris Edwards. She was a housewife and a member of the Blaine Freewill Baptist Church. Her husband, Roy Salyer died in 1957. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Edna Clark and Mrs. Georgia Justice, both of Columbus, Mrs. Dorothy Cox of Catlettsburg and Mrs. Loraine Spears of Blaine, six sons, Raymond and Kenneth Salyer, both of Blaine, William, Harrison and Vernon Salyer, all of Columbus and Quinton Salyer of Grove City, OH; three sisters, Mrs. Ludie Stevens of Ohio, Mrs. Sara Moore of Charleston, WV and Mrs. Lizzie Ferguson of Blaine and 7 brothers, Delphus, Johnny and Hurston Edwards, all of Blaine, Charlie Edwards of Princeton and Oakie, Russell and Earl Edwards all of Ashland.
