John W. Moore, age 73, of Utica, OH was found dead in bed Tuesday morning August 23. A retired farmer, Mr. Moore was formerly from Adams, KY, and had lived in Ohio 12 years. He was born in Adams, KY, March 14, 1882, at Adams, KY,the son of the late John W. and Elizabeth Miller Moore. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, August 26, at 2 p.m. from the Mattie Church, with the Rev. William W. Moore and the Rev. S. B. Ball officiating. Burial will be in Moore Cemetery at Mattie. He was a member of the Baptist Church and the Jake Rice Masonic Lodge at Blaine, KY. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs.Oma Moore of Ashland, Mrs. Walter Arrington, of Columbus, OH, and Mrs. Eugene Moore, Germany; three sons, William of Utica, OH, Forest, Circleville, OH and Elwood, Dayton, OH; three sisters, Mrs. William Cordle, Mt. Interment was made in the family cemetery. His wife, Trennie Moore, preceded him in death several months ago. Mrs. Moore was a daughter of the late Ruben and Martha Allen Berry and was born and reared at Mattie. She had been a member of the Freewill Baptist Church for 45 years.
