He was a welder, a U. S. Navy veteran and member of the White Lake Presbyterian Church. The funeral will be conducted Friday, Feb 9 at 10 a.m. at Heston Funeral Home by the Rev. Jack Savage. Burial will be in Maddy Cemetery, Fallsburg. Surviving are his wife, Donna Lynn Wiseman; grandfather, William (Daddy Bill) Maddy of Fallsburg; 3 sons, James Edward II of the Philippines, Bryan Scott of Davisburg, MI and Anthony B. of Pontiac, MI; 4 daughters, Amy Katherine, Isabel Ann, Gloria and Elizabeth all of Davisburg, MI; 2 foster daughters, Bree Stills and Angela Davis of Davisburg, MI; one grandson and one sister, Theresa Jean Woods of Fallsburg. Funeral services for William Morgan Chapman, Jr., 67, Fallsburg, were conducted Wednesday, Nov 12 in Heston-Wilson Funeral Home by Rev. Pete Miller. Burial was in Maddy Cemetery. Mr. Chapman, former Fallsburg retail grocer, died Nov 9 at the residence following an apparent heart attack. The World War II veteran was born May 3, 1919, a son of the late W. M. Chapman and Irma Austin Chapman. He was former-operator of Chapman grocery in Fallsburg. His wife, Phyllis M. Chapman, died in 1973. Additional survivors includes a daughter, Mrs. Theresa Woods of Fallsburg, a son, James E. Chapman of Davisburg, MI; a sister, Fay Burris of Vanceburg, a brother, Keith Chapman, Kingsburg, CA and 7 grandchildren. Heston-Wilson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the Maddy Cemetery at Fallsburg. Mrs. Chapman was born August 8, 1921, at Fallsburg, a daughter of William D. and Georgia Cooksey Maddy. Surviving, in addition to her parents, are her husband, W. M. Chapman, Jr., a daughter, Mrs. Thresa Woods of Fallsburg; a son, James E. He was born September 14, 1874, in Lawrence County, a son of the late John and Anna Roberts Cooksey. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday from the Fallsburg Tabernacle Church with the Rev. J.C. Hager officiating. Burial was in the Maddy Cemetery. Survivors include a brother, John Cooksey, Fallsburg, three sisters, Mrs. Mattie Riffe of Van Lear, Mrs. Katherine Jordan of Louisa, and Mrs. Formla Skeens of Fort Gay. Kenneth Thorne Cooksey, 44, formerly of Fallsburg, KY, died at 7 a.m. Friday at his home in Newark, NJ after an illness of two weeks. He was born July 7, 1910 at Fallsburg, a son of the late Lindsey and Leola Presley Cooksey. He was employed at the Hammond Iron Co., at Newark. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the home of his sister, Mrs. Clyde Martin of Fallsburg. The Rev. J. C. Hager officiated and burial was made in the Mattie Cemetery at Fallsburg. The body was taken from the Young Funeral Home here to the residence of the sister, Sunday. Surviving are his stepmother, Mrs. Flora Maun of Flatwoods, KY and his sister, Mrs. Martin. The funeral will be conducted Thursday, Nov 25 at 2 at Heston Funeral Home by the Rev. Danny Saul. Burial will be in Maddy Cemetery at Fallsburg. Surviving are 7 grandchildren, William E. Martin, Georgiann Johnson, Sharon Meade, Robert f. Martin, George W. Martin Jr., and Johnnie McComis all of Ashland and Cathy Wilson of Fort Myers, FL; 13 great grandchildren, and 12 great-great grandchildren. Heston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
