Leona Bell Charles, 74, of Louisa, died Saturday, Sep 20 in Three Rivers Medical Center. Mrs. Charles was born Apr 23, 1924 in Brushy, a daughter of the late Tommy and Emma Morgan Howard. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Charles in 1981. She attended the Freewill Baptist Church. Surviving are 3 daughters, Emma Ellen Skaggs, Hattie Garnet Lowe and Linda Lou Thompson, all of Louisa, a son Thomas Edward Charles, Sr., of Louisa, a step son, I. b. Charles of Lowmansville; 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. The funeral was conducted Tuesday, Sep 23 at Wilson Funeral Home by the Rev. Charles Thompson and Rev. Noah Robertson.
