Jeffrey Dixon Obituary
Jeffrey "Jeff" H. Dixon, passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2023. He was born on August 12, 1948 to the late Herman and Roberta Dixon.
Jeff is preceded in death by his father, Herman Dixon; Mother, Roberta Dixon; Sisters, Marcella Dixon and Eleanor Skowronski.
Jeff is survived by his wife, Ruth Sutlic; Daughter, Christie Dixon; Son, Jeffrey Dixon; Daughter, Breanne Whitmer; Grandchildren, Victoria Robinson-Dixon, Anthony Robinson-Dixon, and Lucia Dixon; Sisters Hermia Shifflette and Linda Beck; Brother, James "Jimmy" Dixon; and countless beloved nieces and nephews who adored Uncle Jeff.
Jeff served in the Army from 1969 – 1971 and was stationed in Germany during that time. After his service, he studied computer programming at Columbus State Technical Institute and worked as a Computer Programmer for Sears & Roebuck, Gold Circle, and he most recently retired from Nationwide Insurance after 29 years working as a Systems Programmer. While working at Nationwide, Jeff met Ruth and they were married in November 2019. They loved to stay active and travel together, spend time with their dogs, and riding their electric bikes together often. He loved family history and was well known as our family's historian. He spent countless hours researching family names, finding obscure gravesites of our decedents, and keeping our family tree up to date. Jeff was most well known for being a family man. He loved spending time with his kids and adored his grandchildren. He also was very close with his extended family and loved spending time with his sisters, brother, and cousins. He most of all loved to joke around and make people laugh, he was well known for his dad jokes. Jeff was most well known for being a selfless man who would go out of his way to help anyone in need. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Family and friends will be received from 5:00-7:00PM, Monday November 27th at ADVANTAGE by SCHOEDINGER NORTH at 5554 Karl Road. Graveside Services and Interment to be held at Cyrus Family Cemetery in Louisa, KY on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at 11:00AM with Wilson Funeral Home. Roof Repair Needed
The LCKGHS building is in dire need of repairs. There are trees growing in the gutters and the roof is starting to leak. We have an estimate of $8,0000 for the repairs. If you would like to donate to this project please send a check to the following marked roof repair.

NOTICE OF INTENT TO REPRINT
VOLUMES II, III & IV
APPALACHIA CROSSROADS

The Lawrence County, Kentucky Genealogical and Historical Society, Inc. is exploring the possibility of reprinting 100 sets of Volumes II, III and IV of Appalachia Crossroads by Clayton R. Cox. The set consists of 2,865 pages featuring the Caudill, Cordial and Cordle familes. Mr. Cox only had 100 sets printed in 1993 and the books have been out of print since they were published. The three volume reprint will cost $200.00, plus postage of $6.74, and Ky. sales tax of $12.00 for a total of $218.74 for Kentucky residents.
