Willis Thompson, 82, of Louisa, died Thursday, Feb 6, at Three Rivers Medical Center. Mr. Thompson was born Aug 13, 1914 in Lawrence County, a son of the late Amos and Bertha Spencer Thompson. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Watson Thompson. He was a retired farmer and Louisa Carpet Mill employee and a U. S. Army veteran of World War II. The funeral was conducted Sunday, Feb 23 at Wilson Funeral Home by the Rev. Danny Saul, Rev. Ronnie Childers, and Rev. Rick Cordial. Burial was in Thompson Cemetery. A military graveside service was conducted by members of W. O. Johnson American Legion Post 89 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6103. Surviving are his wife, Bessie Miller Thompson; a sister, Dorothy Thompson of Mt. Vernon, OH, and several nieces and nephews. Wilson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
